The Dreaded Junk Mail Folder And How To Avoid It
Category : Email Marketing
In marketing your business, you need to decide which marketing tools will be most effective. Email marketing is a proven method of communicating with existing and potential customers alike. These are just a brief sampling of effective email marketing techniques.
Try to send only one email campaign message each week. Most likely, your customers receive a bunch of messages a day. If you are sending too many emails, people will get annoyed and block these messages or unsubscribe from your list.
Design your email around a single specific message. You do not want your customers to become bored or overwhelmed by the amount of content in your marketing email. Pick a message and keep your point and focus clear. Your customers will appreciate not being weighed down with extraneous information.
A post-purchase email is a great way to follow up with a customer. In this email, include a coupon to encourage an additional purchase. Include a link to the offer, so the recipient can take immediate advantage. The end of the email could tell them that they can save a lot of money by checking out your coupons.
The odds that your email subscribers will be reading your messages on a mobile device, such as a smartphone, are going up every day. These types of devices don’t have as much resolution as computer monitors; therefore, you won’t have as much space that you can work with. Be wary of the constraints on mobile devices. Make sure your emails are compatible with them.
You can increase the loyalty of your customers by personalizing their emails. You can notify your customers about discounts or sales. Send them new product information that could interest them based upon their previous purchases. Future sales are easier once you have successfully completed the initial transaction with a customer.
Don’t forget to include an effective call to action at the end of each email. The people that receive your emails need to know what’s expected of them. When you include links, be sure to make them easily seen and even include instructions that cover how the links should be used. For best effect, use a call to action at the beginning and conclusion of your message.
Subject Lines
Keep subject titles under around 60 characters. A lot of email clients truncate the length of subject lines. Other clients will not be able to display longer subject lines than this. Regardless of this, your subscriber is likely to only require 60 characters to make a very quick judgement on reading your message or deleting it.
Accusations of spam can ruin your reputation. Lessen the likelihood of this occurring by implementing at least one confirmation step to the email opt-in. Providing an opt-in option on your website will make subscribers confirm their interest in receiving emails from you. You should put two links into the email, one that allows them to confirm and the other that allows them to refute their subscription. New subscribers will like that you are taking the time to protect them from spam. It also gives you a defense should you be accused of spamming down the line.
Make sure your marketing emails’ layouts are top-notch. It is tempting to use graphics, but spam filters can block logos, pictures, and animation more now than ever. Be sure that you put all of the information they need to know within the text portion of the message. Your graphics should be within your website and linked in your email.
You may consider altering your format for special emails. So, if you usually send out HTML formatted emails, then mix it up and send out an email in something like plain text format. When done judiciously, this can make your customer feel a personal connection to you and your products.
Allocating resources into developing a solid email marketing campaign can be a great way to promote your business. The suggestions you have just read should help you in creating interesting and relevant content
